Angelina Jolie reveals she underwent a double mastectomy as a preventive measure against breast cancer.
Jolie reveals she had the surgery after discovering she carried a gene that made it extremely likely she would get breast cancer. Angelina made the announcement in the form of a op-ed she authored for the New York Times called “My Medical Choice.” In there she disclosed why she made the decision and details about when she started the procedure.
“My mother fought cancer for almost a decade and died at 56,” Jolie writes. “She held out long enough to meet the first of her grandchildren and to hold them in her arms. But my other children will never have the chance to know her and experience how loving and gracious she was.” “They have asked if the same could happen to me.”
Jolie said that after genetic testing, she learned she carried the BRCA1 gene and had an 87 percent chance of getting the disease. She also wanted to keep the process private, and the reason she wrote about it was to help other women.
“I wanted to write this to tell other women that the decision to have a mastectomy was not easy. But it is one I am very happy that I made,” Jolie writes. “My chances of developing breast cancer have dropped from 87 percent to under 5 percent. I can tell my children that they don’t need to fear they will lose me to breast cancer.”
She continues with details of the procedure. “My own process began on Feb. 2 with a procedure known as a ‘nipple delay,” she writes, “which rules out disease in the breast ducts behind the nipple and draws extra blood flow to the area.” Two weeks later where her breast tissue was removed, she said it felt “like a scene out of a science-fiction film,” then writes that nine weeks later she had a third surgery to reconstruct the breasts and receive implants.”
She then writes about how the surgery has affected her. “I do not feel any less of a woman.” “I feel empowered that I made a strong choice that in no way diminishes my femininity.”
We praise you Angelina. You will always be our kick-ass hero!
Mad Menstar Jon Hamm and Bollywood diva Priyanka Chopra were spotted together having dinner in Mumbai.
So of course paparazzi went nuts photographing the two. Rumor is Miss Chopra met Jon sometime last year and they’ve remained friends since. According to sources, once Priyanka heard Hamm was in town, she organized a dinner with Jon and two other friends, Mubina Rattonsey and Srishti Ary.
So it was just a “friendly” dinner right? We know Jon is seeing actor-screenwriter Jennifer Westfeldet, so why the big fuss people?

Ranveer Singh isn’t shy about his feelings towards Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone.
When asked about his sexy co-star in his upcoming flick Ram Leela, the boyish actor replied “We hang out together like youngsters do. Just because she is Deepika Padukone and I am an actor doesn’t mean anything. I am a hugger and kisser and I do that with everyone. I come from a family, which is demonstrates its affection. I love working with Deepika and I admire her a lot. She is the most beautiful woman in the world and is extremely talented. She is one of the kindest person that you will ever come across. She is lovely and it is a pleasure to work with her.”
Ahh, let’s not forget his issues with Ranbir Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor. When questioned in an interview about his problems with the two actors, Ranveer said “The newer generations of actors are all very cool. It makes for entertaining news to pit us against each other but there is no such thing. Everyone is too busy to worry about others and I share a close bond with Arjun. As far as Ranbir is concerned I have a great amount of respect for him and he has set a benchmark for all of us.”
Good to know Ranveer is full of love for everyone in B town..

The 20-year-old pop star was hot and all Bollywood at the Radio Disney Music Awards show on April 27th.
Some are saying this was Selena’s hottest performance till date. In a blue-hued checker dress, and a bindi ( forehead decoration,) Selena looked confident and sexier than ever while performing her Eastern dance steps with her back up dancers.
Channeling Bollywood ;)
Check out her performance at the Radio Disney Music Awards 2013:
Mission: Impossible 5 has been confirmed with Tom Cruise again tackling the iconic role of Ethan Hunt. No writers or directors are attached to the project yet but expect Star Trek’s J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions to be involved once again with Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions along for the ride as well. The last installment of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol was the highest grossest one yet, earning almost $700 million worldwide, and has the distinction of being the highest grossing Cruise picture of all time, with the entire Mission Impossible film franchise having earned over $2 billion worldwide to date. If you can recall, Cruise’s original turn as Ethan Hunt in the first Mission: Impossible was all the way back in 1996 and that film was based on the original 1966 TV series so this is a property that definitely has some legs!
In the Mission: Impossible series Cruise often does his own stunts, including running across the Burj Al Dubai for Ghost Protocol as seen in this incredible video, especially amazing considering the man’s 50!
I’ll leave you with this rather funny Ben Stiller/MTV Movie Awards spoof on Tom Cruise and Mission Impossible that includes the man himself, at least he has a good sense of humor about it all…
In non-sequel news, the Movie Don is looking forward to seeing Matt Damon star in Neil Blomkamp’s highly anticipated followup to his blockbuster District 9 called Elysium. The sci-fi pic is set in a dystopian future and is slated to release this summer on August 9th.
